We all like to tell stories, and they change with every pub re-telling, which is quite right. And photos are great for that, because they become a natural focal point, rather than the story-teller. All the time someone's looking at your picture, they might be making up a story of their own. It's fun to show the subjects the pictures afterwards, because they then start coming up with tales and justifications of their own, because they obviously can't see what you see - hence the band shots are always a good laugh.
Jana - Last Lap
24 Roller du Mans 2004, which means an 'ole 'eap of skaters flying around the minor LeMans circuit in a 24 hour relay, to see who can score the most laps. Good clean fun, even though they put a Sade album on repeat at about three in the morning. Right, like *that's* really going to keep you up or spur you on. If there had been a coffee table on the track, most people would have fallen asleep on it. This is Jana in the picture, coming through the very last bend on the very last lap, as the clock was counting to 24... The holding-on technique is known as drafting - the skater behind gets a windshield, and provides the skater in front with a push. So two or more skaters can travel faster than just one.
